About Us
Since 2013, we’ve been transforming vacant lots in the JOSANA neighborhood into vibrant spaces filled with activity, growth, and opportunity—bringing life, purpose, and positive energy to our inner-city youth.
Cultivating Opportunity, Transforming Communities.
Green Visions cultivates opportunity by transforming vacant lots into vibrant urban flower farms, providing at-risk youth with hands-on job training, mentorship, and workforce readiness. Through sustainable employment, professional development, and community revitalization, we empower young adults to build brighter futures while fostering economic and environmental sustainability.
Mission
We envision a Rochester where every young adult—regardless of background—has the opportunity to thrive. Through the power of urban agriculture, workforce training, and community engagement, Green Visions seeks to transform neighborhoods, break cycles of poverty, and create lasting pathways to success.
Vision
Who We Serve
Green Visions is here for young adults in Rochester who face big challenges but are ready to work hard and build a better future.
Based in JOSANA, where 61% of residents live in poverty and child poverty is over 80%, and Joseph Ave, another neighborhood in need.
Over 70% of our participants start without a high school diploma or equivalent.
Many face housing struggles, are young parents or have barriers to jobs and education. Through Green Visions, they gain work experience, life skills, and a sense of purpose.
